IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS:
It appears that “Caller ID spoofing calls” are being made to some of our customers.
Caller ID spoofing is the practice of causing the telephone network to show a phony or fake number on Caller ID. In this practice, the Caller ID display will show a phone number different from that of the telephone from which the call was actually placed.
Recently, a few customers reported to us that they had received suspicious calls from someone and our main local number, (276) 783-3116 showed up on their Caller ID display. Others have reported suspicious calls from (276)-783-2143, an old number that The Bank had some years ago.
IF YOU SHOULD RECEIVE A CALL FROM EITHER OF THESE NUMBERS AND THE CALLER ASKS FOR PERSONAL INFORMATION, THAT CALLER IS LIKELY ATTEMPTING TO PERPETRATE A SCAM. IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU, HANG UP AND CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY.
REMEMBER, WE WILL NEVER CALL YOU AND ASK FOR PERSONAL OR SENSITIVE INFORMATION. YOU SHOULD NEVER SHARE PERSONAL OR SENSITIVE INFORMATION WITH ANYONE ON THE TELEPHONE.
