TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR DEBIT CARD WITH CARD CONTROLS
Card Controls is a security and budgeting feature that puts you in control of how, when, and where your debit card can be used. It is accessed from our online banking homepage.
Instead of having to call us to report a lost or damaged card, lock your card, or change your daily limits, Card Controls put that power directly in your hands in real-time
Card Controls is a suite of controls that you can toggle on or off instantly:
- A "Lock/Unlock" Switch: If you misplace your card, you can instantly "freeze" or lock it. This prevents any new purchases or ATM withdrawals
- If you find your card a few minutes later, you can unlock it just as quickly.
- Travel Notifications: You can submit your travel destination and dates. This ensures your debit card works seamlessly away from home while keeping your account safe from suspicious activity.
Why Use Card Controls?
- Fraud Prevention: If your card number is stolen but you have "online transactions" turned off, the hacker won't be able to use your card.
- Peace of Mind: You don't have to immediately cancel your card and wait for a new one if you simply misplaced it.
Card Controls Q&A
Q. How do I report my card as lost, stolen, or damaged using Card Controls and how long will it take to receive my replacement card?
A. Log into the online banking app, navigate to Card Controls, select the card you need to replace, and choose the option to report it as lost, stolen, or damaged. Follow the prompts to confirm. NOTE: You will need to toggle your card OFF in addition to reporting a lost or stolen card.
Your new replacement card will typically arrive in 7-10 business days, or you can pick up at your favorite branch.
Q. What happens after I report my card as lost, stolen, or damaged?
A. Lost or Stolen: Your card is immediately and permanently deactivated to protect your account from fraud. A replacement card with a new card number will be issued. You will need to toggle your card OFF in addition to reporting a lost or stolen card.
Damaged: Your new card will arrive with the same card number. (Note: The expiration date or CVV security code may change).
Q. How can I temporarily lock or unlock my card?
A. In the Card Controls menu, simply toggle the switch next to your card image to Enable or Disable. This status change happens instantly. While your card is locked, new purchases and ATM withdrawals will be declined. Please note: Pre-authorized recurring bills, like subscriptions or utilities may still process depending on the merchant.
Q. Can I increase my card’s Point of Sale spending limit?
A. Point of Sale limit increases are determined based on account balances and transaction activity. The standard daily Point of Sale limit is $3,500. Requests for limit increases are temporary and will automatically expire after seven calendar days. To submit a request, please select the applicable card, enter the desired limit, and click Submit.
Q. How long does it take for spending limits or travel alerts to process?
A. Updates to spending limits and travel alerts take effect the next business day. You will receive a response from our team once complete.
Q. Will I be charged a fee for ordering a replacement card?
A. Standard replacement cards are free. More than three replacement cards within a year will incur a fee. If you need your card urgently, expedited or rush shipping options can be arranged.
Q. What should I do if I see unauthorized transactions on my account?
A. Report your card stolen, which will lock your card permanently. You will need to toggle your card OFF in addition to reporting your card stolen. Review your recent transactions to note any unauthorized transactions. Contact your nearest branch to dispute the charges.
Q. Can I change the address where my replacement card will be sent?
A. For security and fraud prevention, replacement cards are automatically mailed to the primary address associated with your account. If you need to ship your card to a temporary or alternative address, please update your profile address in the app before ordering. Additional validation is required if your address has been updated recently.
Q. Can I have multiple cards linked to Card Controls?
A. Yes. All active debit cards tied to your online banking profile will automatically appear within the Card Controls dashboard.
Remember, using Card Controls replaces anxiety with total personal authority, ensuring your money is off limits until the exact moment you choose to unlock it. It transforms your device into a personal remote control for your finances.
